The Hawaii Storm Warning System (HSW) is advising people in the state of Hawaii to stay home until further notice due to severe storm conditions, according to the Hawaii Department of Transportation.
The Hawaii Highway Patrol has also issued a travel advisory for areas in Hawaii County north of the Big Island, including Waikiki and Maui.
Homes and businesses will be closed as of Friday, the Hawaii Highway Safety Authority said.
There will also be no access to the roads, bridges, bridges over water or water-based transportation and the use of public transportation, according the HSDOT.
People are urged to use caution when traveling between the counties, as the roads are not safe, the HSA said.
“Stay on top of your personal safety and travel plans as the storm develops,” the HSSA said.
