The NFL will host the national pre-bye week on Thursday, Dec. 2, as teams will have time to prepare ahead of Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.
Ahead of the Week 1 matchup, the league announced its latest travel advisory for Monday through Friday.
The league has a national alert for those traveling to New York and Los Angeles, as well as New Jersey and New York City, which are expected to see a significant increase in the number of violent crimes, according to the league.
A nationwide alert for Monday-Friday, Dec 2 through Sunday, Dec 4 will be issued.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued the alert for Thursday, Jan. 1, as drivers in the New York area, Florida and Georgia will see a dramatic increase in vehicle accidents, especially in the morning and afternoon hours, according the agency.
The NHTSA also warns that people in and around New York should take additional precautions while driving and should keep their windows and doors locked.
